Happy 4th!

Today was the 4th of July, in Japan in any case. Jason and I spent a quiet day at home having our own little mini BBQ with burgers, brats and grilled veggies. It wasn't thrilling but it was a nice relaxing day at home.

It is summer time her on Okinawa so there wasn't too much for me to do. Others were out enjoying the beach or the festival they had on base, but I am stuck inside. Scuba diving was an option but it was super windy and didn't seem like a great dive day so decided against that. But then sometimes it is nice to just relax at home, eat some food and relax with the pets.

It was so windy and so hot while we grilled once we were done the pets nearly melted (we even let Mao outside for a bit). We also barely got the grill started due to the high wind! I guess there are small disadvantages to living so close to the ocean, the price for having an ocean view.

Tomorrow is one more day off, one more day to enjoy relaxing at home and then back to work and the daily grind.
