A Busy Weekend: Part 1

There hasn't been a lot of blogging for the past few days because I have been super busy! There hasn't been a lot of loafing going on or playing on the internets. That isn't to say that I am nose to the grind stone doing unpleasant tasks, but just rockin' and rollin' with stuff to do.

Friday was O-day and that was a fun and a good time. But I already blogged about that. Saturday started out with Jason and I going out for a refresher dive. We are diving with Whale Sharks this coming Saturday and since Jason has not been diving in over a year, we thought it best to get our feet wet on a dive. We do after all want to enjoy the majesty of the great beasts not fumbling with our gear.

It is a good thing we went out too! Turns out my dive computers batter is on the way out the door. It didn't even want to tell me how much air I had for a while there. We managed to squeeze in that one dive and make it work, but we will be replacing the battery this week before the dive. As I have an air integrated dive computer, it is pretty much vital that the thing work, no diving without it.

We dove at Tengan Pier which is supposed to be a pretty unremarkable dive, and it was. I still wish we had brought the camera though. Mostly the bottom is varying shades of brown. Brown sand, brown coral and brown sea weed. But there are a few spots of amazing soft coral and some very unique fish out there. I think we might dive it a few more times some day just because we live 5 minutes from it and might get some really neat pictures.

After the one tank dive it was back to the house to wash up and change and get off to Foster. I needed to pick up the book club book for this month, Enders Game, and Jason was determined to mount the TV on our TV stand. So we grabbed lunch at Macaroni Grill, mostly because we were there and hungry, and then headed on into the BX to find Jason's stuff. That didn't take too long, though it was a bit difficult to determine what we needed as we are trying to mount the TV on the bars on the TV cabinet not the wall and thats all they sold at the BX.

Then it was off tot he library where it took hell and high water to get this months book kit. I mean really, either give me the books or don't. The woman had no idea how to check them out to me and had the communication skills of a gnat. I had no idea if they couldn't find them or just didn't want to give them to me for about 20 minutes of this fiasco. In the end she checked them out to me with a lot of hemming and hawing and being really unsure of life in general. Ridiculous considering we do this once a month...

Once that task was out of the way it was back home again for some cleaning for me and TV mounting for Jason. I didn't have too much time to clean because I was supposed to be off to a Scentsy Party with Crystal. Scentsy, long story short, is scented wax and light bulb heated warmers. I am not too into it, but I must say sometimes it is nice to "leave a candle burning" and not have to worry about Mao burning the house down. I am not quite sure how all those ladies spend so much money on stuff, I have two warmers and just buy wax when some one invites me or asks. The stuff is cheap, the warmers are not. Really, why would you need so many warmers? But any way.

That took a bit longer than expected and so by the time I got home it was bed time. And today, I need to get off to work! So the rest of the recap, later!
