Adventures in Japan Land

I danced with the devil and I seem to have won. Today Jason and I got down on some Fugu sashimi, better known as raw blowfish. It wasn't as cool as one might think, but almost. I did not die, and frankly, I rather liked it. Jason said "Meh" but I rather like sashimi, as opposed to sushi, and thought it was pretty good.

I didn't really notice the tingling your supposed to feel or anything like that, well, except for the wasabi. Hence the not as cool as one might think. The almost comes from the fact that I was eating blowfish (which only a limited number of people can prepare), in Japan, prepared by a world famous sushi chef (Yoshio Maekawa**), in his famous Okinawan Restaurant (Yoshi Hachi) and surrounded by some pretty awesome people.

I can now cross off 57. Eat blowfish (and hopefully not die!)

**"Yoshi Hachi", located in Chatan. The restaurant is owned and run by Yoshio Maekawa, who became a celebrity in the California and New Orleans area, while working for 12 years in the United States. He introduced sushi to many Americans for the first time, including a list of celebrities. Prior to going to America, he spent much time in mainland Japan learning his skill. Since his return to Okinawa, he has appeared in many television shows and magazines, and his "Yoshi Hachi' restaurant is known throughout Okinawa.
